The Dream Stratocaster

Occasionally, a manufacturer will excel in the products that it makes. Fender Musical Instruments are no exception.

Founded originally by Leo Fender, the company makes today instruments that even Leo himself would have thought impossible just a few years ago. 'The Dream' Stratocaster is one of those instruments.

I developed this above image some years ago with a 3D program and still have the original large image with me - I hope you like it.

This unique Fender guitar was made by master builder Gene Baker at fender Musical Instruments and includes some of the most innovative design work that Fender have ever utilised in any Stratocaster. It is likely that this instrument embodies many prototype features that you will undoubtedly see over time from this world class manufacturer included in a product you buy. And indeed later those very features were included in many Fender guitars.

Gene Baker proved to be a brilliant luthier, and after a stint with 'Baker Guitars' last we heard was that Gene was back with Fender Musical Instruments, no doubt creating incredible guitars just like this one! Gene helped me to refurbish some of the parts to get the 'Dream' back to as near as possible its original condition - as indeed did a number of individuals and without that help it might never have been refurbished. Check this website out for the trials, tribunals and the shear effort to get this guitar back to where it's place in Fender history really should be.

The Fender Dream Stratocaster really is quite unique and actually the only through neck 24 fret guitar with a name rather than a serial number - I show it all on this website (updated in 2023) so please do browse around to see all the guys that have been involved in refurbishing this guitar back to as new condition that is possible. A brilliant Fender Stratocaster for sure, but not like you have ever seen before.
