Ginger Pete from Las Vegas

Here's another guy you might know - Ginger Pete from Las Vegas - Pete now owns the Dream Strat and is an avid guitar collector.

Some people have been giving Pete a hard time regarding ownership of 'The Dream' so show some respect to him.. he's a really great guy I have known for some time.

Well, although 'Ginger Pete' bought the guitar, I don't really know him that well, but there he is on the internet and a pretty well known guitar collector really. I like him because he, like me, is probably a collector because he loves to do that as a hobby. So why did I sell the guitar?

The truth is, it was nothing to do with money. You see, I like to play my guitars (I have many and they do all get played). But picking up the Fender 'Dream Strat' and playing it always bothered me a little. This was (and is) a guitar telling a very specific story with much Fender history behind it. I have a PRS Dragon 2002 and don't hesitate to play that, but the Fender Dream is a wholly different story.

Holding that guitar and playing it somehow for me was really sacrilege - it comes from a very holy place in guitar history, so I decided to sell it. Guitar Pete bought the guitar off me, and my son hand delivered it to him - Pete was not there sadly, but I wanted the guitar to get there safely and thankfully it did!

So celebrate that Guitar Pete has the guitar (last I heard) and that he keeps it safe and sound just as it should be.
