Refurbish Images of 'The Dream' Stratocaster
I have spent some time refurbishing The Dream stratocaster back to as near original condition as it is possible without any major aggravation.
There were many things I wanted to do to this guitar. There was much wear of the gold from the plated items and this in my view looked really bad and not befitting a custom one off guitar from Fender. The electrics were all over the show, so I decided to solve all of those problems, along with issues of the neck leds not working properly.
Below are some of the pictures of a considerably improved guitar - now fit to be called The Dream, and in the condition you would expect this thing to be in if you had laid out lots of money to buy it.
I do have the guitar in super high resolution too as I documented the guitar very carefully after the refurbishment for posterity. After all, its not every day that you will see a guitar or any instrument like this. And bearing in mind it was specifically made for the artist, the chances of seeing something similar is really pretty remote.
These images show the actual colour of the Dream Stratocaster - its actually far from 'pink' as some guys suggest it is. This is the 'real' colour in ordinary light in my studio. There is no doubt that the finished refurbish guitar comes quite near to when the dream was new - made by Gene Baker for Asim Can Gunduz. I was very pleased to get the guitar back to this standard, and all the various makers must be commended for their help along the way. So enjoy these images but PLEASE remember these remain my copyright and misuse of them could find copyright offenders in hot water.
It's also a dream sound... click images for larger views.
